Using the Wein WP500B
- Using an analog meter is a great way to slow down and perfect your exposure. Here is how to get a reading in three simple steps:
Set Your Film Speed (ASA/ISO)
- Turn the small dial on the face of the meter until your film or sensor speed (e.g., ISO 100 or 400) aligns with the indicator mark.
Take the Reading
- Hold the meter at your subject’s position, pointing the white dome toward your light source (or the camera). Trigger your flash. The needle on the scale will jump to a number—this is your Incident Light value.
Calculate Your Aperture
- Rotate the outer calculator dial until the pointer aligns with the number the needle just hit. Look at the bottom of the dial to find your f-stop (Aperture). Set your camera to that f-stop, and you’re ready to shoot!
