The Antelope Audio Discrete 8 Oryx arms producers, engineers, and bands with a powerful, affordable studio hub. Built for multi-instrument recording and hybrid workflows, it combines pristine conversion and clocking, console-grade preamps, real-time FX processing, advanced headphone tools, and expansive routing — all in one rack unit.

Experience every mix with uncompromising clarity

At the heart of the Discrete 8 Oryx are the latest AD/DA converters (up to 130dB headroom) and fourth-generation 64-bit AFC™ clocking. Together, they deliver wider stereo imaging, depth, and detail that go far beyond the specs of the converter chips alone. Careful implementation and decades of clocking expertise ensure a sound that stands out in both recording and playback, beloved by audio professionals worldwide.

Eight channels of stunning microphone preamp clarity

The Discrete 8 Oryx features eight discrete Class-A microphone preamps, each crafted with six transistors and inspired by the circuitry of legendary recording consoles. The result is exceptional clarity, depth, and an ultra-low noise floor, along with an upgraded 75 dB of gain to accommodate even the most demanding microphones.

All eight inputs are DC-coupled and support both XLR and line-level TS/TRS connections, while the two front-panel inputs can also be switched to Hi-Z for direct instrument recording.

Connect everything. Work without limits.

With 26×38 simultaneous connectivity — including 8 preamps, 8 DC-coupled line outs, ADAT, S/PDIF, reamp outs, monitor outs, and 4 headphone outs — the Discrete 8 Oryx serves as the centerpiece of any studio. Antelope's intuitive virtual patch bay makes complex routing simple, letting you use every analog and digital channel at once for true hybrid flexibility.

Go one step further in your workflow

With a wide range of I/O options, the Discrete 8 Oryx easily adapts to any recording environment. These dedicated features are designed to enhance your workflow as your studio needs grow.

Word clock I/O

Keep your digital gear in perfect sync with three Word Clock outputs, taking advantage of Antelpoe's best clocking technology. The Word Clock input also allows the interface to operate as a slave, giving you greater flexibility in your clocking setup.

Reamp outputs

Send your clean guitar signal out of the interface and re-record it through your favorite amp or cabinet setup—no external reamp box required.

Talkback

Use any of the eight mic inputs or the built-in front-panel talkback mic to communicate directly through your monitor and headphone outputs.

Footswitch input

This input works as a dual footswitch (1/4″ TRS jack) to manage both the talkback and dim controls simultaneously.

Ultimate control

A redesigned software control panel puts efficiency and flexibility at your fingertips, offering a sleek, intuitive layout that adapts to your workflow. Explore the quick drag-and-drop routing, simultaneous operation of all digital and analog ports, and direct low-latency monitoring with onboard effects. This software upgrade significantly streamlines operation and expands the creative control available within the Discrete 8 Oryx.

Perfect monitoring for everyone

Maximize your session flow and artist comfort with four independent stereo headphone outputs with premium DACs to ensure clean and powerful monitoring. Utilizing Oryx’s comprehensive routing and four low-latency virtual mixers, you can dedicate a completely separate, individual mix for each musician, providing custom cue mixes tailored to their specific needs. Level up these personalized monitor mixes with zero-latency Real-Time FX from the powerful Synergy Core platform, delivering a perfect, finished sound that dramatically enhances performance and captures the best take.

A new headphone experience

X-Feed is a precision-engineered headphone crossfeed system designed to emulate the spatial behavior of loudspeakers in a stereo listening environment. The result is a more cohesive soundstage and a listening experience closer to monitoring on speakers. Additionally, you can ensure accuracy with the headphone calibration option, selecting from built-in profiles of the most popular headphone models to make your monitoring sound neutral and precise. Finally, an intuitive two-band EQ gives you the freedom to easily customize the sound to your personal taste.
X-feed is exclusively designed to go hand in hand with Discrete 8 Oryx’s four high-quality headphone outs.

Shape your sound in real time without latency.

Powered by 2 DSP and 1 FPGA, the onboard Synergy Core platform lets you run a collection of world class analog-modeled effects — from compressors and EQs to amps and reverbs — in real-time with zero perceptible latency. Perfect for giving vocalists polished monitoring chains with reverb, or for offloading CPU-intensive processing during tracking and live performance. 37 Real-Time FX come included.

Synergy Core, home to the finest real-time analog-modeled effects

Processes effects in real-time with imperceptible latency while monitoring, tracking or mixing.

Offloads all processing to the interface thus saving your host computer CPU & memory.
