The Beyerdynamic TG-D58 Cardioid Condenser Drum Microphone is a versatile, unobtrusive microphone designed for capturing snare drums, toms and other percussion for both recording and live sound applications. The TG-D58 features a miniature profile with a condenser capsule attached to a flexible gooseneck for easy positioning. The integrated clamp secures tightly on the rims of drums and percussion instruments. The practical advantages of the patented microphone clamp are immediately apparent. Whether miking rack toms, snare drums or percussion instruments: the microphone can be mounted and positioned quickly and securely.
The TG D58 features a cardioid polar pattern for a uniform frequency response while minimizing off-axis noise and feedback. As compared to its predecessor, the Beyerdynamic Opus 88, the TG D58's newly designed, low-resonance housing with elastic capsule suspension, improved signal-to-noise ratio, as well as its ability to operate with a balanced frequency response at higher levels than before, all remain valid even with phantom powering below 44 volts.
In order to achieve that "unique" Beyer sound, Beyerdynamic has been developing and refining its Sound Channelling Technology (SCT) for decades. Their team of acoustic experts have created acoustic labyrinths with special geometries that provide optimised sound channelling. They influence the sound and model the polar pattern by using precisely tuned delay lines and attenuation pads. Whether with additional elements, special materials or unique design: every beyerdynamic microphone has its own SCT ensure optimal sound wave control, and incredible sound quality.
