The Chandler Limited TG1 Stereo Limiter/Compressor is a recreation of the classic EMI TG12413 Limiter used in custom EMI and Abbey Road recording and mastering consoles from the late '60s. The original was used extensively by engineers such as Geoff Emerick and on albums such as the Beatles' "Abbey Road" and Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon," among others.

The 2RU rackmountable device features an all discrete circuit design with transformer-balanced inputs and outputs. The limiting element consists of a diode network to produce distortion comparable to that of the Fairchild 670. Each channel includes an analog meter for visual feedback, as well as controls for switching between compression and limiting functions, for setting the input level, for setting the output level, and setting the recovery time. The unit also includes a toggle switch for bypassing the compressor limiter functions to use the device as a harmonic distortion generator, capable of adding up to 2% total harmonic distortion, which is double that of analog tape.

The compressor limiter features audio taper input controls that provide more precise control over the amount of compression and the resolution of the limiter.
