The Digital Audio Labs DPM2 is a compact two-channel Dante personal monitor mixer designed to give musicians simple, direct control over the monitor sources they need most. Small enough to clip onto a belt yet capable of receiving professional networked audio at sample rates up to 96 kHz, the DPM2 provides an easy way to build personal headphone and in-ear monitor mixes without requiring a large-format personal mixing station.
 
The DPM2 receives two input channels directly from a Dante network. The channels can be used independently for individual mono sources or linked together as a stereo pair, making the DPM2 adaptable to a variety of monitoring applications. A performer could receive separate instrument and vocal submixes, combine an overall mono monitor mix with their own isolated instrument or vocal for convenient "more me" control, or simply receive a complete stereo monitor mix.
 
Operation is deliberately straightforward. Dedicated master and channel controls provide quick access to overall listening level and individual source levels without forcing musicians to navigate complicated menus. The master volume control remains available at all times, while the channel control allows the selected source to be adjusted and panned as needed. LED indicators provide clear visual feedback for channel selection, level, pan, and DSP settings.
 
Nine onboard DSP programs provide additional tonal control, allowing the listening experience to be optimized for different headphones, in-ear monitors, sources, and performer preferences without adding external processing. When the two Dante channels are configured as a stereo pair, the DPM2 provides convenient control of the complete stereo source from its compact interface.
 
Both 1/4" and 1/8" stereo headphone outputs are provided, allowing the DPM2 to connect directly to a wide variety of professional headphones and in-ear monitoring systems without adapters. The compact, wearable format keeps the mixer within easy reach of the performer while minimizing equipment and cabling around the stage or recording area.
 
Audio, network connectivity, and power are delivered over a single Ethernet connection using Power over Ethernet (PoE). A single CAT5e or CAT6 cable connected to a compatible PoE network switch is therefore all that is required at the DPM2, reducing cable clutter and simplifying installations. Dante channel assignments are configured using Dante Controller, allowing sources from compatible Dante-enabled consoles, interfaces, stage boxes, and other network devices to be routed directly to the personal mixer.
 
The DPM2 can also serve as a compact expansion point for a Digital Audio Labs Livemix Pro system. Because Livemix Pro personal mixers can publish their two-channel mixes to the Dante network, a Livemix Pro mix can be routed to one or more DPM mixers. This makes it possible to extend an existing personal mix to additional performers without requiring another full Livemix Pro personal mixer. Alternatively, a base monitor mix can be sent to one DPM2 channel while a performer's individual instrument or vocal is sent to the second channel, providing simple local "more me" control.
