The Focal Technologies
Aluminum Tweeter - Treble Finesse
Manufactured by Focal, the inverted dome tweeter has been a signature since 1981. It offers the property of being a true micro-loudspeaker. The curvature of the dome is much less pronounced than that of positive domes. This results in better space dispersion and very low directionality, unlike ribbon tweeters. The inverted dome tweeter therefore generates unrivalled dynamics. In addition to dome shapes, focal engineers also work on materials. In this case, they chose aluminum, which increases dome rigidity and reduces distortion. And to perfect the spatialization of sound, a waveguide has been developed. Horizontal frequency response is within +/- 0.5 dB. This performance guarantees an incredibly stable soundstage.
Slatefiber Membrane - Dynamic, Balanced Sound
Exclusive to Focal and made in France, the Slatefiber membrane is made from recycled carbon fiber and thermoplastic polymer. In the quest for perfection and as specialists in loudspeaker membranes, Focal's engineers have chosen to use non-woven carbon fibers in this case.es in the same direction to achieve even greater rigidity, damping and lightness, the "essentials" of a good loudspeaker. Core technologies
Slatefiber cone
- The 6.5-inch Slatefiber woofer cone is developed and manufactured by Focal in France. It is made from recycled, non-woven carbon fibers and a thermoplastic polymer to provide a neutral, dynamic, and balanced sound without distortion.
Aluminum inverted dome tweeter
- The 1-inch aluminum inverted dome tweeter features a shallow waveguide. This design offers excellent dispersion, low directivity, and an extremely precise soundstage with a detailed and non-fatiguing high-frequency response.
Class D bi-amplification
- The monitors use two Class D amplifiers—55 watts for the low-frequency driver and 30 watts for the high-frequency tweeter. This offers high current capacity for excellent control over the signal dynamics.

Multiple inputs
- The rear panel features balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs, as well as an unbalanced RCA input, allowing you to connect up to three audio sources.
Room tuning
- Rear-panel switches for high-frequency (HF) and low-frequency (LF) shelving allow you to adjust the sound to optimize the system for your acoustic environment.
Automatic standby
- The monitor has an automatic standby mode that disengages after 15 minutes of inactivity to save power. This feature can also be disabled.
Flexible mounting
- Built-in inserts allow for wall and ceiling fastening, making the monitors suitable for immersive audio setups like Dolby Atmos.

Cabinetry
- The monitors are built with a robust MDF cabinet with a vinyl covering and feature rounded contours and modern, molded plastic side panels.
Front porting
- The front-facing, bass-reflex port and rounded edges aid in easy acoustic integration, even in cramped spaces, by reducing the low-end buildup that often occurs with rear-ported speakers placed near a wall.
Protective grilles
