The Little Labs LL2A is an all original, fast, soft knee, state of the art compressor limiter with mastering audio fidelity. Ideally suited for everyday use on vocals and full-range material. The LL2A is ideal when you need a completely colorless vocal compression.
 
Type of Compressor 
It uses a four-quadrant multiplier as the gain reduction element; no commercially available compressor uses this technique. Also, the LL2A is a feed-back compressor.

Circuit Topology
The audio signal path uses only two active components: a four-quadrant multiplier and the same output driver used in our popular Monotor headphone amp. The side chain uses multiple four-quadrant multipliers. This compressor is completely differential from input to output, never unbalancing the signal. This fully differential circuit topology also has the bonus of being capable of running unbalanced in stereo!

Attack and Release
The fixed soft knee 400-microsecond attack is designed after the very popular Fairchild 670 number three setting but with a faster 0.9-second release close to the two setting. It is a tweaked version of the go-to vocal setting on the Fairchild.
