The Emperor Limiter from Looptrotter is a powerful and highly flexible dynamics processor covering a wide spectrum of applications including compression, limiting, and adding harmonic distortion to your audio signals. The unit is split into two identical sections for either dual mono or stereo processing, and each channel is accompanied by independent controls for Dry, Wet, and Drive allowing for maximum sculptability of dynamics and tone.
 
Inspired by the limiting processors of the 1960s, at the core of Emperor Limiter is FET transistor, however the rest of the design is focused on novel ways to add richness, and depth to audio signals. Each channel can operate in one of three distinct settings: Fast (limiter), Med (fast compression), and Slow (moderate compression). Moreover, two filters independently implemented on each channel provide options altering the timber without getting into phasing issues. Cutting the lows helps in reducing the undesired low frequency distortion for signals rich in bottom end, while boosting high frequencies conveniently turns Emperor Limiter into a de-esser. All-in-all Emperor Limiter is a robust tool that not only perfectly suits utilitarian functions in the studio, but provides plenty of color and character for creative explorations.
