The Fat Top is a short ribbon passive microphone that delivers a smooth, warm, rich, fat, rounded tone eliminating the need to EQ out brittle or sharp highs. This microphone rolls off high frequencies to enhance perceived warmth. The bi-directional polar pattern picks up sound essentially equally from both faces with a large null between faces, ideal for isolating sound sources. The Fat Top's frequency and sensitivity response deliver pristine audio results that translates a natural analog sound into the digital domain. Its warmth and smoothness eliminate the need for additional processing. Versatile enough to handle any vocals or instruments in recording and live sound application, a stereo pair of Fat Top Microphones also make excellent room mics.
Sequential serial numbers are not an indication of a matched pair. Stereo pairs are built and assembled by our technicians. The exterior sleeve put on the microphone for serial number tracking does not indicate if they are a matched pair. If you would like to special request the serial numbers to be sequential, please be sure to add that to your notes on the checkout option.
